Consul General Sung-gil Jang of the Republic of Korea in Seattle visited the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Washington State in Bellevue on August 5 to review preparations for the WABA Korea Expo & Festival, scheduled for August 14–16 at Pier 62 on the Seattle Waterfront, and discuss areas of cooperation. With growing concerns about public safety following recent gun-related incidents in the region, Consul General Jang expressed his commitment to supporting a safe event, including seeking cooperation from the Seattle Police Department.
The meeting also covered a broad range of initiatives, including participation in Washington State government contracting opportunities, support for K-startups, collaboration among multicultural chambers of commerce, development of next-generation business leaders, and expansion of Korea-U.S. economic cooperation. The Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Washington State and the Consulate General plan to continue strengthening partnerships and networks with relevant organizations to create more opportunities for Korean companies entering the U.S. market and to support the growth of Korean American businesses and future business leaders in the region.
